So my father in law saw the other painting I did of a fish on a piece of wood so he said he really would like one too but of a tiger muskie on a piece of lumber he had lying around the garage. It was actually pretty hard because the wood was not sanded (to keep the rustic look), so getting smooth paint lines was a challenge. The end of the wood actually had a natural curve that I used to look like part of the fish's tail. Also the top of the lumber had a natural dark strip that I chose to be the length of the fish and to also look like a shadow. Oh and no the tree and grass is not apart of the painting. Its just resting on the deck railing outside. :)heatherninagalleriahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06148927984395351888noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1812724125421581886.post-84966053783321652282013-05-16T04:41:00.001-07:002013-05-16T04:45:33.502-07:00Window TreeDid this one for my mother in law....she found an old window, asked me to paint something on it, and she's going to hang it up as artwork!

heatherninagalleriahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06148927984395351888noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1812724125421581886.post-80663078181451337192013-03-17T09:07:00.002-07:002013-03-17T09:07:16.618-07:00Poppies

Another person asked me to do some nursery paintings and I was more than happy to do them! My friend said I could do whatever I wanted for one of them so I decided to do some cute owls and I actually used scrapbook paper for the wings and stars. I just cut out the shapes and applied them with mod podge. The top painting is definitely my favorite and I feel like Im going to do more like this. I never thought Id prefer to do kids paintings but now that Ive done a few Im starting to want to do more and more! Again, Im sorry for the horrible picture quality, I have yet to get a new camera so my crappy cell phone is going to have to work until then.

A while ago my dad had asked me to do a painting of a brown trout but I never got around to it. So when I was racking my brain thinking of a good christmas gift I thought this would be perfect! So I bought a wood slab from Hobby Lobby and used acrylic paint.
So Im on a roll with making instead of buying christmas presents so I decided to paint ornaments too! All I did was buy plain glass ornaments from Hobby Lobby and I just used regular acrylic paint. Afterward I sprayed a clear protective spray on top to prevent them from chipping. I also bought some gold ribbon and tied some to the top of the ornaments to hang them from the tree.
Sorry for the crappy picture (my camera broke so I have to use my phone), these are a little something I whipped up for my mother in law for christmas. I just bought some wine glasses from the dollar store and I bought squeeze paint and made this peacock design.
heatherninagalleriahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06148927984395351888noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1812724125421581886.post-27712368042855170572012-11-22T09:06:00.002-08:002012-12-19T16:16:01.923-08:00LOOMING!
I recently discovered the art of "looming"! I cant believe I never knew about this. Ive always wanted to learn how to knit but figured it would be just way too hard until about a month ago my sister in law taught me how to use a loom to knit and it was SO EASY! So I immediately was hooked and knitted this purple infinity scarf which I thought went perfect with a jean jacket.

So the scarf in the picture below was made because I had some yarn left from the first one I knitted and decided to use the rest to make my mom a neck warmer.
So like tons of other people Im obsessed with pinterest and got inspired to start being more crafty. The candle holder was super easy! I just put rubber bands around it and sprayed frosted spray paint and voila! I found this wooden key holder at Goodwill, painted it gold, and turned it into a necklace holder! heatherninagalleriahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06148927984395351888noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1812724125421581886.post-18033893016948439252012-10-21T10:30:00.000-07:002012-10-21T10:36:53.831-07:00Golden Tree

I think my new favorite thing is gold spray paint! First I used it on a necklace holder I made, then on a frame, and now on my newest painting. :)heatherninagalleriahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06148927984395351888noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1812724125421581886.post-55888407028614884652012-06-30T19:38:00.003-07:002012-07-01T16:15:15.236-07:00Farm Animals

I get WAY more inspired to paint when its sunny out. Since I moved to a new apartment I wanted to do a new painting for my living room. I decided on cherry blossoms. Ive been obsessed with them for some reason lately. I guess because I like the oriental look...and I love the color red....and I just love to paint flowers as you can tell since 80% of my work is floral! Oh and the reason the picture is kind of tilted is because that was the only angle I didnt get a glare with. Haha!heatherninagalleriahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06148927984395351888noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1812724125421581886.post-29469697416422870592011-01-30T08:51:00.000-08:002011-01-30T09:02:56.007-08:00Life Update......So after four years in the healthcare field ive decided Im going to follow my passion of art and design and Im going to go to school for interior design this fall. I am so excited and to be honest a little nervous since I dont know how easily ill find work when Im done. But Ive thought about it and Ive come to the conclusion that life is short and you should do what you love. I feel like your at work more than at home so loving your job is so important in having overall happiness. So here's to the next chapter of my life and refusing to play it safe! :)heatherninagalleriahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06148927984395351888noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1812724125421581886.post-66605749269643333222011-01-30T08:29:00.001-08:002011-01-30T08:30:26.120-08:00Autumn Tree<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 211px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1udn4yr3-qw98rUwgRGNqlCIUibe6NScRZCxuzcPYQyqp7hNZJEDVWUWEA4x8TVK0Zie6LiKaxLHuEQzdCWqc35m1Ra5uJCsHLQT7XitP0wYIjWO2tiYEBZy2RzN06cmGuzpM2Bb4qjw/s320/001.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5568017065537860018" />
This was for a friend's bedroom :)heatherninagalleriahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06148927984395351888noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1812724125421581886.post-85020969592748743752011-01-23T20:25:00.001-08:002011-01-23T20:27:56.992-08:00Cherry Blossoms<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 317px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9AiRsG8jp4mblp8Z2wtkx_epGYAaJshRmAZnHwRhHtS62QxgcZyrL8YnTUU_6h08xYogIZz0heAHs2l6LXQF8ADWcHMqYst2DtFdIo05pKHLZaq6VY1OSDMKF5tpSMhhYYlNntMnyyy8/s320/055.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5565604023949501490" />
I wanted to show how you can take the two outer sides from "Sitting Buddha" and put them together to make a whole different piece.heatherninagalleriahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06148927984395351888noreply@blogger.com0
