Tiger Muskie

So my father in law saw the other painting I did of a fish on a piece of wood so he said he really would like one too but of a tiger muskie on a piece of lumber he had lying around the garage. It was actually pretty hard because the wood was not sanded (to keep the rustic look), so getting smooth paint lines was a challenge. The end of the wood actually had a natural curve that I used to look like part of the fish's tail. Also the top of the lumber had a natural dark strip that I chose to be the length of the fish and to also look like a shadow. Oh and no the tree and grass is not apart of the painting. Its just resting on the deck railing outside. :)

More Nursery Paintings!

Another person asked me to do some nursery paintings and I was more than happy to do them! My friend said I could do whatever I wanted for one of them so I decided to do some cute owls and I actually used scrapbook paper for the wings and stars. I just cut out the shapes and applied them with mod podge. The top painting is definitely my favorite and I feel like Im going to do more like this. I never thought Id prefer to do kids paintings but now that Ive done a few Im starting to want to do more and more! Again, Im sorry for the horrible picture quality, I have yet to get a new camera so my crappy cell phone is going to have to work until then.

I painted these three paintings for my sister in law's nursery.
I also attached some black ribbon at the top to use to hang them.

Brown Trout

A while ago my dad had asked me to do a painting of a brown trout but I never got around to it. So when I was racking my brain thinking of a good christmas gift I thought this would be perfect! So I bought a wood slab from Hobby Lobby and used acrylic paint.

Christmas Ornaments

So Im on a roll with making instead of buying christmas presents so I decided to paint ornaments too! All I did was buy plain glass ornaments from Hobby Lobby and I just used regular acrylic paint. Afterward I sprayed a clear protective spray on top to prevent them from chipping. I also bought some gold ribbon and tied some to the top of the ornaments to hang them from the tree.

Peacock Wine Glasses

Sorry for the crappy picture (my camera broke so I have to use my phone), these are a little something I whipped up for my mother in law for christmas. I just bought some wine glasses from the dollar store and I bought squeeze paint and made this peacock design.

LOOMING!

I recently discovered the art of "looming"! I cant believe I never knew about this. Ive always wanted to learn how to knit but figured it would be just way too hard until about a month ago my sister in law taught me how to use a loom to knit and it was SO EASY! So I immediately was hooked and knitted this purple infinity scarf which I thought went perfect with a jean jacket.

So the scarf in the picture below was made because I had some yarn left from the first one I knitted and decided to use the rest to make my mom a neck warmer.

Crafts!

So like tons of other people Im obsessed with pinterest and got inspired to start being more crafty. The candle holder was super easy! I just put rubber bands around it and sprayed frosted spray paint and voila! I found this wooden key holder at Goodwill, painted it gold, and turned it into a necklace holder!

Golden Tree

I think my new favorite thing is gold spray paint! First I used it on a necklace holder I made, then on a frame, and now on my newest painting. :)

"Anywhere But Here"

16x20 acrylic on canvas....i was very happy to already be asked to do another piece with song lyrics, which is my new favorite addition to a painting :)

My Favorite Song

So this painting has special meaning because behind the flowers are the lyrics to my all time favorite song "Black" by Pearl Jam. My friend gave me inspiration to do a floral with writing in the background and I came up with this piece. Ill definitely do more like this.

Espresso

Once again my signature red, yellow, and brown colors were used. I thought this would be a perfect painting for a kitchen (its hanging up in mine) :)

Oldie but Goodie

I dont know why I never shared this painting. I did it a long time ago for a past coworker. So different than my usual florals but I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to pull it off.
